Family Care Connection and The Family Place will provide community workshops entitled “Changing the Fabric of Our Community”. The workshops are sponsored through a mini grant from Texas Council on Family Violence. www.tcfv.org This project will focus on creating awareness and education on the effects of domestic violence within the City of Dallas African American Community. Workshops will address the effects of domestic violence on African American children and teens.

Past Events

Family Care Connection (FCC) celebrated National Parents as Teachers Day with an open house event on November 8, 2006. The event was hosted by West Dallas Multipurpose Center and focused on school readiness and child abuse prevention. Sponsors were Family Care Connection Board of Directors, Parenting in the Metroplex, Father’s Reading to Children Everyday (FRED). FCC presented the “Literacy: The Gateway to Success” award to Kendell’s Korner Day Care and Heavenly Care Child Development Center. Teen parent volunteers were also honored.






FCC partnered with West Dallas Multipurpose Center with their annual Christmas Party for youth and seniors.

FCC partnered with Parenting in the Metroplex in its annual Grandparents Raising Grandchildren conference.






FCC partnered with LIFE Matters and Parenting in the Metroplex to host a training on healthy relationships.
